It is not an anesthetic, the patient is awake, breathing independently and is able to react to external stimuli. In some patients, the sedative effect of 50% nitrous oxide is not sufficient. For this reason, in addition to the Baldus\u00ae Touch 50 device, which can administer a maximum of 50% nitrous oxide, there are also the Baldus\u00ae Touch 60 and 70 devices, which can administer a maximum of 60% and 70% nitrous oxide are limited. In this way, the trained user can decide for himself which maximum dose of nitrous oxide he would like to work with. The nitrous oxide concentration is individually tailored to the patient.
